The Tale of The Gilded Mirror
|
We were approached by a client, through her insurance company, to repair a gilt framed mirror which had been damaged.
We were able to restore the frame, however we could not immediately find a suitable similar replacement for the glass which had attractively distressed with time.
Our client was naturally upset but had not reckoned with the perseverance of Peter Taylor, the owner of Taylor's Antiques, who searched relentlessly at antique fairs and auctions for the perfect match.
Several months later, Peter found what he was looking for, via a contact in the antiques world.
Owner and mirror were happily reunited. Our client was surprised and delighted that we had been able to achieve the almost impossible, as she had given up hope and bought a replacement mirror. |
